Bears-Class-2013-14-Nov-Jan-210-5x4The Bears “Pre-K” program is available to children who will be 4 years old by June 30th and attending Kindergarten the following year.

We are committed to small class sizes, with careful attention to a balance of gender.

The fun classroom environment will promote a positive learning atmosphere that is developmentally stimulating. Each child will be given the opportunity to expand their knowledge while engaging in exciting activities. Our daily routine will consist of circle time, small group learning, building language skills, reading readiness, math, art projects, music, and exploration in science and social studies. The children will explore their surroundings, play outside for recess, and foster  new friendships.  Our Bear students learn to think for themselves, find answers to questions, and have the opportunity to learn leadership skills. Most of our teaching units will be “hands on” materials that will be available in the classroom for the children to examine and use during their day.

Each student will be enrolled in the Reading Eggs program using our school iPads. Reading Eggs is an online reading program that makes learning essential reading skills a fun and motivating experience. The program has many features that support the core literacy lessons needed get your child successfully started on his/her journey to becoming proficient reader. Additionally, all parents and individual students can use the program to check completed lessons or continue their lessons from home.

The school’s perpetual goal for our Pre-K class is to teach them the love of learning while experiencing an exciting and positive atmosphere in their class.
